The books are incredibly popular and given the interest in manga at the College, Mrs Coole decided to run a manga-themed competition with students invited to create an original manga character or write a short, original manga story. The response was overwhelming, and many outstanding entries were received featuring clever art techniques and demonstrating the conventions of manga beautifully. Mrs Webber and Ms Stace judged the works, and the following students were named as competition winners:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Original character creation<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>First place &#8211; Laura Berry<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Second place &#8211; Evelyn Cechner<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Third place \u2013 Jamie Ryan<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Short story<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Winner \u2013 Nicole Whittle<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Outstanding Work Awards<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jacob Honschooten, Ericka Marriott, Jade Sheddon, Zahra Haidari, Cheyenne Bain, Chevelle Farnsworth<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Congratulations to our winners and well done to everyone who submitted an entry!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Manga are comic books created in Japan featuring uniquely styled characters.
