Why I Joined The Collective: I joined The Collective as I saw the First Robotics Competition as a way to gain new skills, build new friendships, as well as to learn to work well under pressure, and have an overall fun learning experience.
Joel Van Boxtel:
Age: 17
Interests: Beta testing OS, robotics, finding gemstones
Why am I in this programme: FRC is in pursuit of advancing the human race on a new frontier of technology.
Lachlan Smith:
Age: 17
What are my interests: I enjoy learning things related to science and love to problem solve, whilst grinding hard to achieve my desired ATAR.
Why am I in this programme: I started FRC in 2017 whilst in year 11, I instantly fell in love with it and developed a passion for it. After finishing 5th in regionals, I realised the advantages I got from the programme.
What do I hope to achieve out of this programme: To further develop skills that can assist me after school and open more opportunities for me to pursue. I also want to help others in the programme to get the experience that I’ve had so far, creating a successful plan for the team.
Mariyam Syed:
Age: 17
What are my interests: I like drumming, producing art and spending time with friends and family.
Why am I in this programme: I want to help and guide the new members of this year’s team, I want to use and explore my skills in the marketing department to see if it is something I would invest in the future.
What do I hope to achieve out of this programme: I hope to achieve new contacts and skills which hopefully should come in handy in the near future but also see if marketing is a future worth investing in. Also, I hope to achieve an enjoyable and fun experience out of this.
Shawn McSorley:

Who am I: Shawn McSorley is a man driven by curiosity; his shine for knowledge brought him to First Robotics competition. Shawn discovered the power of programming in his second year of high school, which eventually became a great passion. His hobbies and past times include, but not limited to. Weightlifting, programming, study and maths.
Aaron Kendall:
Age: 16
Year: 11
Interests: Robots, organisation, education, books, knowledge, movies
Why I chose Robotics: Interested in the fields of business and management, these areas were needed among our robotics team.
Leah Lowenstein:
Age: 16 years old
Who am I: Leah Lowenstein is an enthusiastic young woman who aspires to learn as much as she can in her fields of interests. She is a hard worker who works to the best of her ability consistently and enjoys a challenge.
Interests: Books, bass guitar, art and design, music, psychology, movies and media.
Why I Chose Robotics: Leah chose this program to expand her knowledge in the aspects of engineering and the mechanical side of things whilst enjoying her work focusing on the marketing and design area. She hopes to have a fun, enjoyable experience and return for the 2019 robotics competition.
Lachlan Pettit:

Interests: Football, Cricket, cars and robotics.
Why am I in this program: I joined the FRC team because I thought it would be a great educational, and fun experience.

Who am I: Aaron is an enthusiastic, hardworking student. He likes working in a team to complete tasks and pushes himself in things he does.
Interests: Cars, mechanics, electronics, camping, mountain bike riding.
Why I am in this program: Aaron is in this program to extend his knowledge of electronics and learn about coding and other areas. He also would enjoy working with friends to build the robot.
What I want to get out of it: Aaron wants to get more knowledge about electronics out of it and skills in different areas as well as coding. He is looking forward to the achievements the team can do with the robot.

Who am I: Ethan is a entrepreneurial teenager with a passion for marketing and pushing himself in all sorts of areas including learning new skills and pushing himself both physically and mentally.
Interests: Computer’s, mountain biking, marketing, drawing, exploring new hobbies (learning card tricks and playing guitar),
Why am I this program: He wants to learn new skills and give me experience in certain areas.
What I want to get out of the program: Experience in management, marketing, engineering, working in a team environment, learning to work in a stressful environment, learning new skills in general.
Age: 15
Who am I: Morpheus Gallo is a curious individual with a love for technology and gaming. He likes challenges and pushes himself to make sure what he does is as perfect as it can get.
Interests: Consumer technologies, coding, travelling, photography, gaming, anime, robotics.
Why I am in this program: Morpheus always loved robotics, so couldn’t pass on an opprtunity to build on and compete in an international competition. He also want to expand his knowledge on coding and programming, to be applied in future careers.
What I want to get out of it: Morpheus wants to gain more knowledge in programming, cooperate with fellow teammates and fly to Sydney to compete. He is looking forward to the competition and gain new skills in the process.
Paranjal Khurana:
Age: 14
Who am I: Paranjal is an ambitious and hard working student who likes to achieve the best results possible in whatever she does. She is very diligent and likes to put in a lot of effort into everything she takes part in.
Interests: Animation, Graphic Design, Reading, Sketching, Origami, Badminton, Anime, Photography, Stamp Collecting.
Why am I in this program: Paranjal is in this program to work on her teamwork skills and be part of something on a larger scale than the events she has participated in before. She is also quite fascinated by this competition because of last year’s program and when she saw an opportunity to be part of the team this year, she decided to take it.
What I want to get out of it: Paranjal wants to learn skills which will help us work in similar environments in the future such as working with a team and under time constraints and pressure. She also just wants to see the result of our hard work as a team!
