The synergy for the College and the community to undertake a whole school approach to becoming a Minerals and Energy Academy is an exciting one that will help develop not only the College’s identity and learning programs but has the potential to embrace the wider community through dynamic curriculum, partnerships and programs.
Through greater flexibility, Southern River College will be able to achieve our vision and empower the College community to be far more responsive to the diversity of our College community. The ability to find local solutions is seen as one of the most exciting possibilities for our College plan.
Our objective is to provide a vision that supports the studies of minerals and energy integrated through context and curriculum, leading to a metropolitan Energy and Minerals Academy College that aligns industry and education. The vision links to the National Curriculum and Skilling WA Plan to help increase participation of young people in the mining and resource sector.
