Southern River College is running a free community coding club called a Coder Dojo. New students and their parents from Southern River College and surrounding primary schools are encouraged to attend. The aim of our Coder Dojo is to raise awareness of the importance and accessibility of coding through fortnightly workshops – come along to one session or come along to every session! It is also a great opportunity for primary school students and their parents to see what Digital Technologies looks like in a secondary setting.
Participants will learn the basics of coding and work with other members of the community. You will have opportunities to get hands on and write codes to create cool games and write programs that can assist people in the community.
Coder Dojo run as one hour sessions every fortnight at Southern River College in room LA40A. In Term 4 2019 Coder Dojo will be run on the below dates from 3:30pm to 4:30pm (every fortnight).
- Thursday 14th November
- Thursday 28th November
- Thursday 12th December
Students and parents/guardians from Southern River College and surrounding schools are welcome. We encourage parents/guardians to attend the workshops with their child and participate in the sessions. For more details or to book, check the Coder Dojo website: www.coderdojo.com
